New member from Texas

Howdy, I'm Mrs. Padilly (aka Donna Johnson), and a new member from Texas. My husband (aka Mr. Padilly) has recently joined, too.

We currently own a 2006 17' Casita Travel trailer, which I restored and blog about at MrsPadillysTravels.com, but we are planning to size up to the Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB in the fall (still towable with my deisel Jeep Grand Cherokee).

We thought we would join this forum to learn all we can before we purchase. Looking forward to learning more and meeting other members.

Hello from Kentucky, Mrs. Padilly, and welcome to the forum. Lots of good folk and information here. Lots and lots of discussions too. Always room for another Air Streamer, make yourself comfortable.

Congratulations on choosing an Airstream product.

One of the perks of Airstream ownership (besides this Forum) is membership in the WBCCI. Several years ago I joined the WBCCI as a Member at Large. It did not take long to discover that each unit has its own unique personality. Camping with like minded people is much more enjoyable. I have discovered that the Texas Gulf Coast Unit (TGCU) headquartered at the Texas Airstream Harbor Inc (TAHI) is best suited for me - for many reasons.

You can read more about the Harbor on Lake Sam Rayburn (SE of Lufkin) at:

http://www.texasairstreamharbor.com/...r/welcome.html

Full hookups are only $15 per night. You need not be a WBCCI member to stay at the park - the only requirement is an Airstream product.

TAHI is a gated community - lots of road and park area to ride bikes on. Birding is second to none in Texas. We are right on the shore of Lake Sam Rayburn, so most any type of fishing is available.

TAHI (Texas Airstream Harbor) is only a couple of hours north of Houston.

PM if you have any questions.

I love that all your vehicles have names! I do the same thing. My jeep is "Lil' Filly" and my future Airstream will be Silver Belle (as Cadillac Three would say, "It is all about the South", lol).

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks, Dennis! I will certainly check it out. I can tell its going to be a long few months till we get the Airstream this fall! I'll have to glamp in my lil' Casita till then!

Thank you everyone for you welcomes! I'm still trying to figure out the "Thanks" "Edit" "Quote" """" and "comment" options. Not sure if I'm doing it right, or making too many replies! Once I get the hang of this site, all will be well.
