Hello all,

I've been lurking for a while so that I could absorb the knowledge that you all have put forth. I have learned a ton from the forums and hope to continue to do so. My wife and I picked up our first travel trailer/rv. We are hoping to have lots of adventures with it.

Today we picked up a 2018 Flying Cloud 19CB. We looked at so many and decided that this would be a great unit to get started with. We are very happy with the purchase and will be taking it on her maiden voyage tomorrow morning.

First question: If I have my Airstream plugged into my regular house outlet (15A) will it have enough juice to run the fridge all night? Do I just push the power button and let it run?

Thanks!

Jimmy

Jimmy,

Welcome to the forums and to Airstreaming from Pennsylvania. We're sure you'll enjoy the travel and adventure.

Yes your 15 amp service from your home should run the refrigerator without a problem. You'll want to use a suitable extension cord depending on the length needed. Typically for the refrigerator and converter (charges the battery and supplies 12vDC systems) the type used for outdoor power tools should work (14 gauge). If the run is very long you may need a heavier (12 gauge) cord. If not supplied with the trailer, you may need an adapter to go from a 30 amp outlet to a 15 amp outlet. They're inexpensive and available at any RV store, WalMart, most big box hardware stores, etc.

Have fun and hope to cross paths with you sometime in the future,

Roy and Marie
