I've been following the forums here and appreciate the information shared and help willingly given by forum members. Its a fun community I look forward to becoming involved with. Hopefully I can help others as I learn more about these trailers. Okay, a little history on how we got here.
My wife and I bought a
1965 16' Shasta in the spring of 2016 and did a light restoration. We loved camping in it, meeting people and taking our grandkids places - you haven't lived until you put two adults, three kids and a dog into 13' of aluminum! But the structural integrity of the Shasta just wasn't up to a lot of travel without a full restoration and we were tired of the 2:00AM treks to the bathroom.
So we sold the Shasta and moved up to a 2013 23D Flying Cloud. Our first trip was from Seattle to Sunnyvale CA for Thanksgiving, then over to Yosemite in snow and then back up the California, Oregon and Washington coast to Seattle. All in all, 2500 miles in 16 days. Made some mistakes, learned a lot and had a great time. We look forward to more trips both near and far - and warmer weather.
