New member to the Airstream group. My Husband & I just purchased a project 65
Caravel. We have talked about purchasing one for years. A little gem came up on for sale, and before I knew it, the deal was done.
This looks like it may be awhile before ours will be on the road. We are excited about owning this, because I have a Vintage 1958 Ford F 100 pick up truck for our Tow vehcile.
We are looking forward to meeting new friends with our new interest.
If there are any members in the Chicago area, we would love to hear from you, specially owners with older models. We are newbies and need all the help we can get.
We need to see other Caraval's interior layout . Our project Airstream is a total gut out.

Hi Gina & Mark. Welcome to the Airforums! I'm not too far from you in Schererville, IN (just over the border in NW Indiana. My husband & I are working on a 1964 Bambi II project. It's a total gut & new frame job. They're very similar to a Caravel in size & lots of other things. Our frame is in the garage & the body is the the back yard, so I know what you're talking about with a big job! We have a 1986 31' Sovereign that's all finished & is our camping vehicle for now. Let us know if you have any questions....although I have plenty myself!

I was afraid to post such a project, but I will. The airstream is still at another location until the end of the month. I will post some today. I still have to figure out this site.
Thanks, its 7:30 AM, and my husband is non stop about the airstream, and what he's going to do with it. We would love to see your Airstreams, and Indiania is close.

Our '62 Globe Trotter (a bit longer than yours) is up in the northern suburbs, in Deerfield IL. If you're ever up our way, PM me for contact info and you're welcome to tour one that's never been touched inside.

Welcome Gina & Mark. There are many AS owners in the Chicago/NW Indiana area. Since you are a vintage owner I would suggest contacting the vintage group of the WBCCI Wisconsin Unit. There are several members in the Chicago area.
