New Member - Boaters>RVers -Picking up a 2018 Globetrotter next week

This is our Hello World post,

First, a thank you to the community. Like all of us here, through this forum we have learned so much about those who traveled the path before us. Your knowledge and experience materially contributed to our eventual commitment to act on our dream and buy our first AS. We travel to OH to pick up our 2018 Globetrotter FBQ in a week and a half.

We are Lake Superior boaters and find the parallels between the AS community and the trawler community to be comfortingly familiar. Lots of experiential wisdom, peppered with a little self-important expert opinion. We learn from it all.

We look forward to continuing the learning process, sharing our experiences as new AS owners and learning the ropes. We look forward to meeting some of you along the way.

Hello from Colorado and welcome. You are right, these forums contain a great community willing to share their experiences with all things Airstream. We lived in Minnesota for nearly 30 years. Grand Marais was a favorite place, especially the city park.

Gee, my son has a 1969 Globetrotter 21'. It was the first year of the new body style. Something tells me your new trailer will be 1000% better than the 69. It is fun for us to see the Globetrotter name come back around. Same thing with Flying Cloud. I anxiously await the return of the Trade Wind and Overlander names. Maybe someday.

You will love Jackson Center. We've been their once for some body repairs. (Not mine, the Limited). I thoroughly enjoyed the plant tour since I worked in manufacturing my whole career. The folks there treated us very well. Small town hospitality.

Post a couple of pictures when you take delivery. The Globetrotter is all the rage lately.

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! We will circle back after we pick up the new trailer and report on how things went.
As for the '69 Globetrotter, we have a lot of appreciation for the vintage trailers but are at the point in our lives where we are trying to downsize the project list.

Happy Spring! (And if you lived in Minnesota for 30 year, you would know that means it is snowing right now....)
