Hi, im new to this site so i wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Randy, i'm a 39 year old God loving male with a wife of 17 1/2 yrs. I have a 14 year old daughter, a 13 year old son, a mean cat and a very loving old golden retreiver.
I'm just fixing to purchase my very first airstream and im a bit nervious about it. It is a 1969 model that sleeps 4. The body is in really nice shape and so is most of the inside...i think... i hope!
The biggest fear i have is the a/c and the frig... neither one works and know one knows why. The trailer has sat in the sun for about 5 yrs and has not been used at all.
I would be thankful to anyone that can give me advice on where to get the cheapest parts available.
I know i can get the trailer for $1200 but im going to offer $1000 tomorrow and see if they give in...either way, i'm getting it for a really good price.

Talk to ya soon i hope!

Hi and welcome to the forums,

Sounds like fun looking at the Globetrotter! The fridge might need to be "burped" [do a search for fridge and burped, might find info] especially if it has been sitting 5 years. Lots of help here if you read through the threads. There are lots of places to find parts, sometimes your local RV repair places will have what you need, other times you will need to check out the vendors here at the forum. Cheapest isn't exactly what you want, you only want to repair things once. Go for quality.

When looking at your prospective trailer be sure and check the floor. Most trailers in that vintage, after sitting out, have wood rot in the floor. Check under cabinets, etc.

Good luck! Sounds like your family is ready to travel.
