Hello everyone. New member even though I've referred to this site several times in the past. My husband is a member also (stratosboat1) and posted a thread when our first AS was totaled by a Texas spring hailstorm. We were blessed to find a 28' Classic at a great price and have been back on the road for several months. This forum is a great resource for information and I'm glad I finally took the time to register.

Welcome to the forums. You already know that this is a friendly place to hang out while hopefully learning some useful information.

I'd like to also welcome you to a rally the Texas Highland Lakes Unit will be holding in Bandera the weekend of May 3rd. We are hoping all of our members and guests bring their children and grand children to this event as it will be specifically geared towards our children. This rally is what we call a "buddy rally" where participants do not have to be members of any Airstream club or unit in order to attend. Non member guests may come and fully participate with us in order to see if this is the sort of thing they might one day like to be a part of. We have two "buddy rallies" a year and this will be our last "buddy rally" until sometime in the fall. This would be your opportunity to rub shoulders with other Airstream owners to share experiences and knowledge first hand.

Many of our members also meet for lunch at Luby's Cafeteria on Hwy 183 near the intersection of FM620 at 1PM the first Tuesday of each month. You are welcome to attend lunch with them sometime. Living 100 miles away, my wife and I won't likely ever be there, but you could meet some of our lively members there. You may send me a private message by clicking on my name to the left of this post. Or, you might contact a couple of our local members there in north Austin: Myron Fischer at (512) 266-3488 or Jerry Jackson at (512) 832- 5663. Either of these gentlemen can fix you up with specific dates of the rally, expected costs, etc.

This unit of the Airstream Club is its only unit nationwide to experience steady growth each of the last three years. Last year, I believe we added 16 new member couples to our group. We must be doing something right to attract that many new members. I hope you will consider this invitation and perhaps come to Bandera with your family. We'll try and treat you so many different ways that you are bound to like one of them.
