My name is Steve Hughes. My wife, Donna, and I have been married for 40 years. We have two married children and four grandchildren. We live in Western North Carolina in Rutherford County. Our county was the location for the 2006 HGTV Home and is also where the movies Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohegan's were filmed. I finished restoring a 1940 Ford sedan "streetrod" serveral years ago and needed another project to work on, so we purchased a 1970 25 foot International Airstream. Of course it was a "fixer-upper", and that is what I have been trying to do. I have be using the forums as a resource to help solve some of my problems. I enjoy reading the threads.
I am doing most of the repairs myself and my wife is the "interior decorator". I am an avid fly-fisherman, so that is the decore we chose.
Our goal is to get it on the road....or on a mountain stream by spring '07.

Steve, Welcome to the Forums. The Great Smokey Mountains at your door
step, Awesome. Maybe I'll see you when I pass that way this spring. Good
luck on your restoration and no question to difficult that can't be answered
here. I've gained a great deal of knowledge myself just reading through the
forums during my Argosy restoration. Again welcome.
Regards, Keith

Steve, welcome to the forums! We're so glad you've stopped "lurking" and joined the fun.
You're in a great part of the country. I tell everyone that W.N.C. is my favorite part of my territory.
You're also pretty close to RichardT who is just up outside Lake Lure. He's got quite a collection of Airstreams.
You might want to consider aiming for the April 20th weekend rally we're having over in Hiawassee GA. It could be your comming out party.
