I just joined the site. What a great site ! I recently purchased a 1962 Tradewind that is mint and ALL original. Not a thing has ever been modified. Not even a nail hole in the walls, etc. All original paperwork from day one and any and all updates that were ever sent out by AS. The funny thing is that this has an exact Safari Interior of the same year. Exact down to each detail. Is this unusual? Well anyway, Merry Christmas to all in the club and I really look forward in chatting with you all and learning. My serial number is 24DS/SO835. All of the hand written envelopes are still here and in great condition. All of the labels inside cabinets etc are still there. I will take pics as I can and send them. I am currently living in this as it is in such great shape. Anyothers with the same vintage, etc please send a note.
Take care and thanks in advance.

Great! Another Tradewind Owner

Willy, it sounds like you've found a real treasure complete with all the trimmings. I can't wait to see your pics. Having all the appliance manuals and related papers means so much. Take pictures of EVERYTHING! Having pics available of a vintage trailer in original condition and good shape can be an invaluable reference for many. And they can come in handy if you have to disassemble and repair something. Welcome to the forums.

Fantastic

Boy. You're got all the vintage owners drooling. What a find.
I think we all can agree that when you post your pics in the Members Photos gallery this would be a marvelous Christmas Gift to all of us.
Welcome to the Forum, happy Airstreaming and a joyous Holiday Season to you and your family.

Tom.

Should I post pictures of all the brochures, letters, updates, etc as well as interior and exterior? How many pictures am I allowed to post as I will post as many as all would like to see. Will check later for reply and what others in the forum would like to see. Happy Holidays.

Welcome. Where did you find your new toy? We all like to hear the story of how one comes upon "their Airstream". Looking for these wonderful trailers is part of the fun. Of course there is the constant danger of buying more and more and more of them once you catch the addiction. Very few of us are able to settle for just one. PICTURES PLEASE

Pictures

Here are a few pictures.....this is suppose to be a 1962 Tradewind.....It has a complete different interior and window layout, etc that I have not seen before. This is my first attempt with a digital camera and uploading photos. Not sure if I am doing it right or if the complete picture will show up as I had to resize them. I will try these and then send several more. Thank you all for your patience as I am learning this.

IMHO, it sure looks like there may have been some previous mods on the cabinets above the front gaucho/dinette and other areas. I'm no expert, but these look like previous owner upgrades. Anyone else have an opinion?

Welcome!

I forgot to welcome you to the forums!...........you have a very nice vintage trailer there......even more pics of the exterior would be helpful! It's good to see some AS'ers in the midwest (I grew up in KS). You don't see many folks with AS's in the Heartland!

jordandvm.....the pictures are with poor lighting......the grain........trim, and everything matches identical throughout the interior. I will get better photos, and when I took off the cabinet handles through the interior....the fading beneath each handle is the same thru the interior. This is a one owner, and no mods were ever done. This one still has the ironing board that hooks up to the "C" channel in the kitchen. Will get better pics, but there are no mods other than the A/C that was installed in the bathroom. Oh yeah...still have the original shower curtain and it is in great shape. The Dometic fridge was installed at some point, but has all of the upgrade specs and paperwork for this upgrade. So happy that I have found a place to learn all about these great works of art!!! Once you see better pics, this AS has a bit of 1959, 1960, 1961, and 1962 throughout it. Must have been a very special custom order as I can look at different models and years and it is a combination of all of these. I am waiting for a response from the original buyer.....( now 97 years old) and see what info I can gain. Will send pics of all paper items and all the original typed letters, brochures, bill of sale, updates, club membership, round original window stickers, etc. This one still has the little 110 volt red stickers on the lights that show you which side is 110 and which is 12 volt. I am so happy with my new project and REALLY look forward in meeting and learning from you all. WOW I am really wordy here.....can you tell I am excited about my new find!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.
