new member - 2004 Bambi

Hello, happy to be a new member of the forum. I have a 2004 19' Bambi and a 2006 Dodge Quad cab Cummings. My wife and I have taken one trip in the AS which was around the country, from Virginia out to Washington State, then down the coast and thru Utah's parks. Many parks, 10,000 miles, and with no problems. Really a great trip and the AS was a real pleasure to pull. I love the design of the AS. My wife and I have done lots of tent camping and boating so the AS is luxury to us, especially the hot shower. One question I have is if it is better to leave the AS out in the elements or cover it? I would love to have it in an RV barn, but that will have to wait. Jack

Do not cover it. The friction of the cover could do more harm than good to the clear coat.

I also think that is a bad idea to cover an Airstream.

DO NOT COVER IT! The cover will abraid the clear coat and the plexiglass rock guard over the front windows. You'll end up with what could be thousands of dollars in damages. That's a promise.

Welcome to the Forums. I also have a 19' Bambi (2006). We have made 3 short weekend type trips in the month or so we have owned it. We love ours too and can't wait to make an extended trip somewhere.

The Forum is a great resource and will save you hours of frustration, tons of money, and you can't beat the entertainment value of two AS owners "debating" the merits of a particular model, piece of equipment, favorite campground, food...well you get it.

I agree with leaving the Bambi uncovered. it is strong enough to handle the elements.
