Hello, new member from West Virginia, just picked up 1974 Argosy camper yesterday, have lots of questions, whats it worth?how do you measure it?it doesn’t say the length on the title.its black, did it come black from manufacture?
Read a little history on the Argosy, very interesting. My wife and I camp but where we camp there are no utilities, water etc.
Bought this 1974 Argosy I think 24’ because price was too good.
So hello everybody.

Welcome to the Forums!

Start by posting a picture of your new trailer. Someone will likely be able to tell you everything about it on sight. Take a pic of the VIN number--it can usually be decoded to reveal the length. Also, the length of AS trailers is reported/measured from the back of the bumper to the ball on the A-frame, so a tape measure would probably solve all mysteries.

I have never seen a factory painted black Argosy, so you probably have some previous owners' Stealth trailer. There is likely to be a cloaking device built into the control center. Look in the cabinets for a hat made of aluminum foil that will shield your thoughts from the Aliens.

As for what it is worth, again, a picture is worth 1000 words. It really is more about condition than anything with these vintage trailers. A 70's vintage trailer that has been neglected for the last 30 years is worth a lot less than a trailer of the same year that has been fully rennovated and routinely camped in.

good luck!

Hit "Post Reply", then look above the box where you type. You will see a little paperclip. Click on this, then select the pictures you want to load, select "upload," then "close window", and they will be attached.
