New Member!

Hello all! Stopping by to say hello and ask a few questions to get started in the right direction.

My friend just bought a 1966 Ambassador International and I am doing the renovation for him. I have gutted it with the intention of doing a new modern interior. I took my time removing every interior piece in hopes of selling what we can. I’ve reassembled the interior in his garage for pictures taking purposes (see attached photos). My question is where do I even begin to post all of the items we have for sale and what’s the best method for finding prices. We started on Craigslist and have been getting lots of emails but know clue what to price everything at. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I had a hard time finding homes for much stuff in my interior. Shipped a few pieces of hardware, but most of it went to the dump. You can try posting on the classifieds in this forum and see if there are any takers. Mostly will be people looking for odd bits. If you're getting calls from Craigslist, I'd suggest asking for offers and taking what you can get. There isn't much in there that's going to fetch a high dollar value unless you find someone doing an original restoration that's missing a particular impossible to find piece.

I'd suggest you consider keeping everything until the renovation is done. You never know when a part might be useful either to put back in, or to use as a template for a new piece. Things like latches and hardware tend to turn up in other areas of the trailer. It's also nice to encorporate original elements in a modern redesign.

Good luck with your renovation. You've got your work cut out for you.

Hi and welcome to Air Forums. I had a 66 Trade Wind and was interested in you post. That Ambassador twin was a very nice trailer indeed.

Interior parts are a hard sell due to the shipping costs. You might get lucky and have someone close by with an interest. Like your intentions, many folks will rebuild or build new interior cabinets. I agree with the Greatleys, those walls and cabinets make good patterns when building new.

That said, I recommend you post one ad with as many photos that are allowed (10 I think) with a "make offer" price. E bay is another place vintage Airstreamers look for a replacement part. The plastic bath parts might be worth a bit more. Many of the interior parts are common among several models, not necessarily unique to the Ambassador. If your trailer is the fancy top "International" trim level, be sure to advertise that. Internationals often had better cabinets made from nicer woods.
