Hello fellow airstreamers. I am new to this site. I have a 1958 Caravanner that my dad gave me. I named him Leroy after my papa. Some of you may know this name as I wanted to start restoring him a long time ago and have yet to do so. My boyfriend and I are ready to get started and he was perusing the site today looking for how-to tips. We hope to make some friends here and get Leroy up and camping soon!

Welcome. Great story! Really honors your papa's memory and you'll make some new ones yourself too! This group of folks is amazing, talented and generous with their knowledge. I'm sure you'll find what you need here. Good luck!!

Welcome to the forums! Caravanners are the very best, but I am a little prejudiced since I have one too.

Pretty long thread on mine in the link below may help you a bit.

Welcome to the forums. Caravanners are just really neat Airstreams. I agree that your dad would be proud that you are going to restore and use it.

Lots of great information here and helpful folks.

Good luck, Dan

There are no stupid/dumb questions. There may be the occasional dumb/stupid answer, but the majority of the time, there is more info here than one can digest in months of reading. You will learn to refine search questions so the answers to start reading are not too overwhelming.

Lots of great folks that have "been there and done that" and are willing to share how they solved a similar issue.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome. A lot of good info to be found here. Get familiar with the search tool to be able to home in on answers to specific questions. If they have been answered before, someone will give you a link to point you in the right direction, or they may just give you a fresh answer, even if that question has been posed a dozen times. A lot of good people willing to share their experince and knowledge. As others have said, pictures, pictures, pictures.
