New in Texas Hill Country
Greetings, all. I've been reading threads here for a while as I've searched for the right Airstream trailer. Today, I finally landed a 1973 27' Overlander that has sat pretty much untouched for the past couple decades in a barn. It's completely unchanged on the inside...everything shows its age, but doesn't show a lot of use. Even the 'lovely' avocado green carpet remains.
I've got some work ahead of me...The frame and shell are in great shape, new bearings and tires, but all other systems are suffering from sitting unused for a long time. The long oval windows in the top of the walls in the front have disintegrated seals, and there has been a little leakage that has a couple soft spots on the floor underneath (it was pulled out of covered storage for the past few months before I bought it), but nothing too bad, and everything else is dry and tight, including the bathroom floor. Looking forward to learning more and posting my progress as we bring her back to ship shape.
