New in NW Arkansas

Hello,
We are "new" Airstream owners. We got our 1965 Caravel in November as a family Christmas present. It is a beauty, in great shape, just needs the personal touch.
We are in NW Arkansas and are looking forward to many new adventures in our home away from home.

Mike,

You should check out the Branson Spring Rally that takes place during the first weekend in April. There is a long thread on the forums about it.

Oh by the way, welcome!

Brad

Thanks, we heard of one at the RV park we were at last weekend at the city RV park on the lake. Sounds like fun, met a lot of great folks there.

Hey Mike,

Welcome to the forums. I've been thinking about doing a canoe trip at Buffalo National River in your part of Arkansas. It looks like a great place.

Welcome to the forums, and we can ad another name to the Arkansas Airstream Mafia! Very nice trailer too and the 65's were the last of the wood and zolotone era!

BKahler was talking about the Branson rally and the thread can be found here (Branson Spring Rally). Looks like you are about 2 hours away from the rally grounds....wish I was only 2 hours from there!!!!!

Hope to see you around,

Steve

The last time we went through Bella Vista (Christmas), I saw a bald eagle flying over town! That was great!

Welcome, and congrats!!! That is a beautiful trailer! I hope you can make the Branson rally--it is a lot of fun! We basically take over the Compton Ridge north campground. Shiny stuff everywhere!

We have been on the lower Buffalo, floated from Gilbert AR to the Maumee Access. Huge bluffs and great scenery. Have not been on the upper Buffalo yet, I hear it gets pretty rough when the rain kicks in.

Thanks for the welcome! Spent a few days recently at Branson, wife liked the close prximity to the Landing while the boys and I chased trout in the lake. I noticed that there is a bbq contest at Compton ridge, forwared that info to my wife, great cook, you can tell by looking at me.

Just have the ones from when we bought it so far. Have done it up in a pirate ship theme. Still have more to do, but will get out with the camera and get some fresh shots soon.

It is a great place. We are on a small lake, so I can sneak off and scare the fish with my fly rod occasionally.

Hey Mike,

This pic in your avatar looks familiar. Did you win this trailer on Ebay by chance? I think I can see some stabilizer jacks on the side. The trailer was being sold from Kansas City I believe.

Welcome to the boards!

You should try to make the rally in Branson.

What's your favorite spot to camp in your area? I've been looking at Natural Falls across the border in OK and at Devils Den. Been to either?

We have only been out in it once, but I guess it depends on what you like to do, Devil's Den has great trails and caves, I like Roaring River near Cassville, MO for the trout fishing (I have a fly fishing problem).
Down along the Buffalo river there are some great places to hike and float.
We are trying to plan a few "short" trips and see whats out there.
Oh, we were alos looking at Murfreesburough (? spelling) the diamond state park where you can pay a fee and go in and hunt for diamonds. (and keep anything you find)

By the way, I'm originally from Springfield. Left for a "better job" in "01 and just stayed here.
