New in Northern CA

My wife and I are new to trailer life let alone Airstreaming. We are planning to have our 1965 Overlander pullable for the Norcal rally to Lassen / Lava Beds Parks. We live between them. I am a retired engineer and my wife is a retired Nurse. Anyone on the trip, please be patient. We will have a thousand questions. We wanted a silver twinky for years and now we are not sure what to do with it. if anyone has any suggestions that woulld make life on the trip easier we would sure like to hear them. If anyone has any questions about the area we will try to help. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Bob and Charlene,

Welcome to the forum, Airstreaming and trailer life. Really lovely area in that area South of Burney! I am originally from Mount Shasta, we moved to Oregon when I was in grade school but my grandparents lived in Shasta until they passed.

Something you might consider as well is the Steens Mountain Ralley http://www.airforums.com/forums/cale...-16;&e=517&c=1
in the middle of September.

Make sure the trailoer is waterproofed from the rain.

All the exterior gaskets will be bad, unless they have been replaced. There are far superior window gaskets available, that do a far better job of sealing.

Make sure all the appliances are function as they should, not just working.

Check for LPG leaks.

The running gear, tires wheel, hub and drums, should all be balanced as an assembly.

Be easy on the hitch rating. Excessive rated hitches will lead to damaging the trailer and some of it's components.
