New guy from Maryland

Hi all,

After years of dreaming, I finally bought a vintage Airstream. It needs a lot of work, but I'm eager and looking forward to the process. Get used to me, because I'm sure I'll be tapping into the wisdom here!

Hi Travis,

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new rig. Post some photographs when you are able.

This is what she looked like when I rescued her- a diamond in the rough!

The inside is rough. The original owner was a professional photographer and she traveled with it until the 1980's. She sold it, and the next owner mostly let it sit. The good news is that most of the interior is intact; the bad news is that it looks terrible.

I need to drop the belly pan, get a new axle, and basically start all over. The outer skin looks pretty good- the only dents I see are on the banana skin/wrap.

I don't know how common it was, but she has factory bunk bed attachments.

Hey Travis, Nice to see you are the forums. Still willing to stop by and give her the hairy eyeball. We are just separated by a river...

Hey Frank!

I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon, and we can talk about when to get together. Thanks!
