I just spent a few hours at the local Airstream dealership asking a bunch of pre-purchase questions about buying my first Airstream. I've had this dream of touring the US in an Airstream for several years, and now, maybe it's time to get serious and start planning. I'm considering taking a year... maybe more, and see as much of America as possible - I'm sure this was a typical dream for most of you Airstreamers out there in this forum, and I'm glad to have found this online community. Thanks all - I look forward to reading your posts.
Did you go to Windish by any chance?
We think we found a used one in San Diego, but the new one's are beautiful.
We are planning on spending the summer on the road with my husband, a dog and an almost 3 year old. We might be crazy- I guess we'll find out soon enough!
Cheers!
Welcome to the Forums, michael. We're very glad to have you with us.
You'll find a whole bunch of like minded people here. We have an '05 Safari 25FB that we have spent 210 nights in in the last 20 months. We have have pulled her 30,000 miles, and have not tired of the adventure.
You're gonna love Airstreaming. As you prepare to purchase your fist Airstream, ask a whole bunch of questions here. You'll get honest answers.
Are you an experiences RVer, or new to this hole thing?

I like it when I hear others admit this - it's an often heard comment coming from me... and one of my favorite follow-up sayings is: "Those who say it can't be done are usually interrupted by others doing it."

Hi Brian, I'm new to the idea of actually considering OWNING an Airstream, but the adventurous idea of traveling in one has been in the back of my mind for many years. I may finally be getting serious to turn my dreaming into reality. Thanks for your suggestions of asking lots of questions... very glad I found such a welcoming community in this forum.
Hello Kani and Jack. Yes, I plan to take MANY photos of my year-long jouney... and probably create a blog to share my adventure with anyone willing to listen.
