Welcome to Air Forums. Renovating these old Airstreams is a fun hobby. There is a lot of expertise in the New England area to help out if needed. These Air Forums are also very handy.
I have a 75 Overlander 27', one size smaller than this Ambassador. It was in good shape kinda when I bought it, see photos. I did the inspection myself and knew full well what I was getting into. This Ambassador you are looking at is not the most popular model. The trailers 25' or less are more popular and generally worth more.
I would suspect you could have 20k in this trailer including the purchase price to make it reliable and travel ready if you do most of the work yourself. And spending over 1000 hours on it wouldn't surprise. I can just imagine all it needs. A $2k Airstream is an expensive hobby. I don't think you can make a lot of money on this trailer, just like I don't think I can on my Overlander. I'm spending on it as I like it and intend to keep it, not fix and flip.
I hope you decide to join the vintage Airstream hobby and give this old girl a make over and back on the road.
David
