New | Full-timing in August

Hi,

I'm new(ish) to the community - I've been in love with Airstreams for years now so I was on AIR Forums before, but no longer have access to my old email/account info, so here I am again.

I will be FT in a 23D starting in August. I will have a pretty permanent set-up, but will be scouring these forums for ideas and tips. One thing I am trying to figure out is Internet access (verizon vs satellite options that I need to research).

I am really looking forward to this adventure and to being part of this community.

Since we always had ATT&T service at home, we bought a hotspot with ATT&T for our internet needs on the road. Well, that was good most of the time but we found ourselves in FL and LA where sometimes we had very slow or no reception. We supplemented the ATT&T hotspot with a Verizon MiFi and that seems to be doing better in most spots. Today I'm using ATT&T and it's great. We had a contract with ATT&T and now have one with Verizon and will run both until one of the contracts runs out then make a decision on which one gives us the best service most of the time.

I have found that Verizon seems to have the widest coverage but, especially in or near urban areas, AT&T has the best (in terms of speed). We are not power users (no movies or live streaming) so Verizon has worked out the best for us.

$80 for 10GB shared between the phone and the IPad.

There is a Facebook Group for the RV Mobile Internet website. Lots of info there!

Can you let us know what you find?

Hi, I'm an internet worker, both myself and my wife telecommute. We use Verizon, as it offers the best broadest coverage across the nation, coupled with a booster you can't go wrong. Matter of fact I'm typing this post on it now, from a remote location.

Good luck on your journey.
