New Full-Timers! 4000 Rivets, Mike & Kristin Ryan Photography

We are three weeks away from our launch date! [emoji38] We purchased our new home, a 27 foot FB International Signature, from AANW in Caldwell Idaho last Fall! We had Ultimate Airstreams in Gladstone, Oregon do some modifications to it (reoriented the dinette, shortened the couch seating in order to install more storage and a butcher block surface!) and we got it picked up last month to begin our move-in!
We will be heading out on our full-time journey late this month, with a stopover in Hood River, Oregon for a solar install...and then North to British Columbia and perhaps over to Banff! From there we have dotted the map with ideas, but we are going to meander with the weather and our moods!
We are Mike & Kristin, married for 31 years, 2 kids and 4 beautiful grandkids in the NW, newly retired from 'regular' jobs, now nature and travel photographers excited to see North America; National Parks to hidden cities! We love ocean vistas and desert landscapes, hiking and paddle boarding and in general, exploring!
You can find us on Instagram @4000Rivets as well as @kristinryanphoto and @mikeryanphoto! And perhaps we will meet you down the road!

Can you post photos of your renovations?

Did you sell the house or going to use it as a home base?

Good luck on your travels

The renovation...they call it the "grand lounge gourmet"! (Ultimate Airstreams in Wilsonville, OR)

Welcome to the forum. Love your new home and I am sure you will have a wonderful time traveling across this beautiful country of ours. I look forward to seeing your photos and getting inspired to go and see new places as I too am full-timing and recently retired as well. Safe travels.

That is a nice cabinet. Lots of storage. We did something similar but decided due to cost and complexity of the Ultraleather covering on the lower storage cabinet to place a cabinet on top of the couch frame.

We had the dinette curb side set removed, table cut down so there is room for the recliner covered in Ultraleather and wider for the street side dinette seat so its easier to get in and out and to lounge back with a pillow. Still allows a 3rd person to sleep on the street dinette seat and the remainder of the couch, about 6ft. Just remove the back cushions and makes a nice single bed.

Thanks! We are starting out in the Western states, maybe into Canada and perhaps down to Baja! How about you?
