Thumbs up New from Western Washington

Hello,
I’m new to this forum and just purchased a 2013 Bambi Sport 16 in June. I had been browsing this site for the past few months and just decided to Join. My wife and I took our first trip of around 4000 miles about two weeks after we got the little Airstream. Amazingly our 4 cylinder 4X4 Tacoma pulled well delivering right at 12.5 MPG across the Continental Divide on I-90. We traveled from Washington State to Minneapolis, Kansas City and back. Prior to the trip I added a Prodigy 2 Brake controller, a hitch receiver and a EasyLift Equalizer Hitch kit (never installed the sway control). We bought a few items along the way but already had most of what we needed. The Bambi was definitely a nice place to go to at the end of a long day driving. Thankfully we learned a few things from our previous Toyota micro-mini motorhome, but this was our longest trip in an RV so far.

Our Little Airstream has a few quirks but I’m seeing a lot of useful information on the forum for fixes. Right now I have a couple of computer fans to help silence the refrigerator roar. Still working the details on that one out. I'm still confused as to why they placed the stabilizer jack under the front step without sizing the jack handle to clear the step.

Thanks for being here.

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome, We're probably going to take the Bambi to Richland on Labor Day. Does anyone know of a nice RV Park there?

Welcome to the Airstream family. Great Corp of Engineers campground on the Snake River just east of Pasco. I believe the name of the campground is Hood. I would start looking to make reservation for the busy weekend.

Welcome Turbobill,

I was born and raised in your area...

I don't have experience with Richland but I agree with Blue Pearl, reserve early. Early means a year in advance for some places.

Thanks for the tips, I'll get the big Corps of Engineer Campground Guide for future use. We'll probably us the Moon River RV Park because It is close enough to bicycle to down town Richland without being on a busy highway. We have the tow vehicle available too, but the bicycles are great for exercise.
