New from Canada
Just became Airstreamers with our 1990 29ft Excella 1000! Love it and looking forward to meeting other "riveted" travellers. Any suggestions for staying in Texas this winter?

Welcome from Burlington Ont.!
Someone suggested the Big Bend area in Texas and I would agree - beautiful scenery, lots of peace and quiet, and great for hiking.
We have detoured down that way for a few days several times on our way to Arizona, (we generally spend time each winter in Arizona/California or Florida/Ga./SC. This year it will be Florida.
Big Bend is pretty remote. Of course you can get gas and food supplies from the few local sources, but you would be wise to bring any specialty items you might want if you head down that way!
Enjoy! Brian.

Welcome aboard!
The parks are filling with lots of snow birds... the NTACI has parking for WBCCI members.. and you can purchase a place to actually park your Airstream...then live in the building .. It is called a 'Villa'... We like the place.
It does 'freeze' there on occasion (Hillsboro, TX).. but, as mentioned, in the Big Bend area will have some sparse facilities... which may work ok for your health, social and support needs...

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your Airstream!
On your way to Texas, pass through the Bentonville, AR area on I-49.

Welcme to the forum from an Ottawa streamer. No x's, so no Texas! We are doing the florida thing this year. If you are back in time for our club 'spring shakedown' weekend, look us up and join us for the weekend in Ottawa. Its how we got started in the club.
Good to have you in the Forum

Howdy from Texas! There are thousands of places to stay. Near Austin is LCRA, Lower Colorado River Authority, which operates great little parks. We are at North Shore Park near Bastrop. Reserve America will allow you to make reservations.

The state parks of Texas are open year round. Purchase an annual pass so you don't have to pay for the daily use fee and includes 4 half price nights when you stay longer than one night. All have at least water/electric hookups. Cost of sites is from $20-25 per night.

What an amazing group of people. So friendly and welcoming. Definitely looking forward to going back for a visit before we continue with our Texas wanderings.
