New but Not here by choice

That may seem a bit strong, but allow me to qualify.
Bad guys stole my 2004 Jayco TT April 26 2012. I could afford to upgrade to 5th wheel, but couldn't afford $70k truck to pull it. After a very stress filled (and hot) summer, I was found by a 2001 Airstream Land Yacht XL390. Took delivery 9/15/12. I think my wife H/S daughter and even the dog are relieved. We loved our trailer, ours since day one.
I am looking forward. To infinity and beyond. (still, stupid bad guys)

Hate that your circumstances were bad though we're glad you ended up here. Welcome aboard.

Sorry for your loss, Rocket Man, but could I be the first to congratulate you on (gulp!) stepping up? Happy to have you here amongst friends....a lot of aluminum friends!

I feel your pain. I bought my Interstate on 12/23/2011. On 12/24/2011, before dawn, someone broke into it and tore up the dashboard to steal my Kenwood head unit. Talk about heartsick! Fortunately all I had to do was get it fixed and install an alarm system (which I intended to do anyway, if the thieves hadn't beat me to it).

If you want my advice, take your Land Yacht to someplace that installs alarm systems, and get a decent one. The one I got was a Viper system with two-way remote. If you've got a smart phone, you can get a model that will auto-dial your phone when the alarm goes off, so even if you can't hear the alarm, you can still know if someone is messing with your rig and can call the law. I haven't upgraded to a smart phone yet, but when I do, I'll add that feature.

It has been 2 years since the Jayco was stolen. We are working thru the transition. Longest trip since purchase in 9/2012. Currently in Cedar Key FL. Several AS Moho in the area this weekend. We miss the Jayco dearly but 900 miles in this is better than a pickup truck. Click image for larger version
