New, but an old 'streamer

Hello I'm new to this forum, but a seasoned Airstreamer. My parents bought the first one, a 1964 26', in 1966 when I was 18. We went to every Washington unit rally we could, They bought the second one a 1969 31', brand new, we even went down to the Califorinia factory to pick it up, got a tour through the place also. That trailer got dragged all over the Northwest. In 1990 after my mom had passed, my dad realised that the 31 with only 2 beds wasn't going to work for him and his friend, me and my wife and a baby girl. so suddenly he came home with a 1989 34' Excella 1000, it had 3 sleeping areas.
Dad and I added a 3 panel solar battery charging system, linked to charge either the stock AS batteries, or the 3 large deep cycle batteries that power the 2500 watt Trace inverter system, this thing never runs out of power
I inherited the rig after my father passed, keeping the WBCCI number we had since 66.
Havn't been able to go as much as we would like (stupid things called work and bills) but things are looking up WAY UP! next summer I will buy a diesel pull truck, most likely a crew cab F250, my current truck gets about 6 mpg on the flat freeway, and has gotten as bad as 3 mpg pulling a moutain pass.
Summer 2009 will be differant, we plan to take a 2 month trip across the country, every summer after that we will go some where we havn't been, in about 5 years I will retire then we will be hard to find.
I've seen 41 years as a 'streamer and I hope to see many more.
I just wish I could figure out a resonable way to get my 1985 Goldwing in the truck, I 'm just not ready to give up the trailer for a motorhome yet.

Hi Dave and Joan, welcome (from a little to the North of you!) It's wonderful to hear about your Airstream family legacy - glad to hear that you are keeping it going.

You might use the search feature to look up ideas for transporting your motorcycle - I know I've seen it discussed here somewhere.

Happy travels!
