New Bambi owners

We just made a 7000 mile plus round trip from California to Minnesota to pick up our (new to us) 1999 19 foot Bambi and had a really great trip back across the northern states including a week long stay in Yellowstone Park sleeping in our own bed, in our own little home. It's been great and looking for more to come. Towed really easy, have a few maintenance issues to resolve. Didn't care much for the jet stream of air off the 18 wheelers passing or oncomming at 85 but steady hands on the wheel and the little bullet shape helped a lot.

Happy traveling all of you.

I love, love, love my 16 footer.
And I've put an awful lot of miles on her in the last year.
Enjoy your Bambi and be sure to join us at some of the California Forums Rallies.
It's a great way to meet fellow 'streamers and compare notes.
Have fun!

Hey beb,

Congrats on your new baby and welcome to the Forums! Try getting an Equzl-i-Zer hitch. I use one on my 19CCD and nothing seems to bother it.....18 wheelers, cross winds, nada! Seems like the trailer isn't even there at times.....

You'll love how easy it is to hitch up too!

Safe travels!

Welcome and congratulations on your beautiful Bambi! FYI, we, too, tow with an Equal-I-Zer hitch on our 19-foot Bambi, and have never had a problem. We are in Sedona, Arizona right now loving every minute of it. Happy trails!

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip so much. The sway that you are feeling on the road is controlable. What are you towing with? Are you using any sort of sway control or wieght ditribution equipment? Some may be in order, depending on your TV.

I wanted to ask what you towed it with but see that Moosetags beat me to it! When we finally get hold of ours we'll be doing the Equalizer-hitch thing as well. We'll need it since we are babes in the woods at RV'ing.

Enjoy!

We also have a 19' Bambi and an Equalizer hitch and have experienced no problems with cross winds, 18 wheelers, etc. Once you get used to the Equalizer noise, all is well!!

Hello everyone, I'm considering the purchase of a used 16 ft Bambi. I would like to tow it with a 2006 Toyota Sienna Van. Has anyone towing experience with a similar vehicle?

Jerry,

Equzl-I-Zer makes a plastic plate that fits on the 'L'-bracket that holds the spring bars and they almost completely eliminate the noise from the bars. The plastic piece fits right on the bracket, and the bars go right on top of it. Nothing to adjust or mess with. Works great for me!
