New AS Caretaker

Howdy all -

My name is Carol, and I live in East Texas. My DH's family has a 1961 Bambi 16', which has been in their family since the 70's. We are now the new caretakers of this little girl.

Condition: needs restoration. Enough of it is original that it would be a shame to customize it. Even the little metal ice cube tray is still in the mini fridge. Everything in this trailer is original, although some of it torn, stained, and tattered. Shell is in fantastic condition, original lights work for towing, no broken windows, etc. We are very excited to start the process.

I posted earlier today in the plumbing section. My first question was about toilet gaskets. If you are a toilet person, please check out my query and if you can add to it, you will be appreciated.

Thank you much!

New AS Caretaker

Greetings Carol!

Welcome to the Forums and the world of Vintage Airstreams!

You have what may be one of the most sought after Airstream models of the 1960s. The 1961 through 1963 Bambis are likely among the most recognized models Airstream ever produced. Possessing a heirloom Bambi is even better as you have access to so much of its individual history.

I am sure that your Bambi will provide many years of fun and adventure!

Again, welcome to the Forums!
