New Argosy owner. Glad to be here.

Hi everyone. I am currently finishing up reconditioning a 1986 Argosy 34' trailer so that my Army hubby and I can travel and live wherever he gets stationed. It just made sense. This trailer is really nice and we got it at auction for a great price. We call it a time capsule as it was hardly used and while a lot of parts are hard to come by, most everything works very well. By reconditioning I mean mostly cleaning. She shines up nicely. My question is that there is a stickiness on some of the walls and doors that I can't seem to get off. I've used goo b gone, lysol, etc, still sticky. It's the walls by bedroom and bathroom. Anybody have any suggestions? I guess the previous owner just put this away and it just stayed sticky. I do have a complete owners manual that he meticulously documented all the equipment and dates in order of warranties sent. Amazing! If anyone else has an argosy and needs me to check on something I would be more than happy to. Thanks for welcoming me aboard.....

simple green

Use the search function and you will find lots of info. about this problem. It is quite common because it is the sticky seeping thru from the vinyl wall covering. Scrub it off with simple green or any good cleaner. Then a light coat of Future Floor wax. That will seal it. This procedure needs to be done every few years.
