New and Clueless
I "just" purchased a 1968 or 1969 AS Safari, and I'm in love The problem is that I know virtually nothing about my new friend. I sent it to the rv doctor to have all of the essentials repaired/replaced (water lines, lp gas lines, new converter, shore cord, etc.....) 7 months later, she's home! I am planning on doing the interior myself. My first concern is the bath. the abs plastic for the tub is just kinda hanging there. How do I reattach? There also seems to be a piece of the plastic missing that would attach to the closet--it is just the bare wood. I'm figuring I can find a piece of ABS or formica to solve that,. Also, are the sliding cabinets in the shower area water-proof? This forum has been invaluable for information, but I couldn't locate these answers. Thanks!!

Post the trailer serial number, and many of us can identify it for you.
What you typically do, or don't do, depends on the year of the trailer.
If you have a single front window, the trailer cannot be a 1969.
If you have two "wing" windows along the sides of the front window, then the trailer cannot be a 1968.

sarasafari,
Welcome to the Forum and a big congrats to you with your new purchase. My wife and I have a '78, 27ft Argosy and we rehabbed it (inside). It was a long process but fun and now it is just neat to have it completed so good for you on your AS trailer. jjustice

Welcome Sara,
Great to have you with us and congratulations on getting your "New Friend" started on the Reno/Resto journey. As mentioned, photographs will help others understand the extent of the conditions you're describing.
Join us at the Springstream rally in Hiawasee the 2nd weekend in April if you're schedule permits. Plenty of rigs to look over, good eats, great music, and fun people.
Not having a fully functioning rig isn't an issue for us if it's not for you.
Regards,
Kevin
