New Airstream Owners in Denver !

Hey Everybody-

My wife and I just picked up a 1978 Ambassador International, and are still giddy with thoughts of future adventures. Currently it's parked in our driveway and my wife is searching sites on how she wants to redesign the interior. I am discovering that there seems to be a pretty steep learning curve on the mechanical systems. If you are local, or not and want to share your experiences, any and ALL information is appreciated !

Thanks-

Rick

Congratulations! The learning curve isn't all that steep, so just dive in and enjoy!

Congrats! There are tons of threads on how and what to replace on major systems and running gear. Also lots of threads on different ways to redo the interior. Also Denver has a couple WBCCI club options, DenCo and 4CU

http://www.wbcci-denco.org/

http://fourcorners.wbcci.net/

Both have a great member base and you will find ideas and help in either club. Also the 4CU has a vintage restoration rally.

Welcome and have a blast!

You're in the right city. Also check out the Rocky Mtn. Vintage Airstream Club. Lots of us DENCOers are members.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to get you with us. You've found the right place for all things Airstream.

There is a learning curve, but it's not launching rocket. Hang in; it will all come together, and it's well worth the effort.

Send a message via Skype™ to Zeppelinium
I'm into redoing #5, so I can occasionally be of help, down south in Palmer Lake.

Thanks for the nice Welcome

I can tell this is a great community already !

My In-Laws came into town on Saturday, the day I brought trailer home, and my Father In-Law and I started gutting on Sunday. I think he was more excited to dig in than me !
My list of projects, in order are going to be:

scrub/prep/patchholes/cracks/prime/paint plastic walls

Relocate battery box to outside front of trailer(currently under where front "Goucho"? would have been.

Install new sink base/countertop

Have Heater Furnace & Fridge checked out / tuned up(Suggestions on RV service center or RV HVAC guy ??)

Install laminate wood flooring

Build front Booth/Sleeping platform

That should keep me busy for awhile ....
