Hey there! I'm the proud new owner of a 29' 1974 Airstream Ambassador International Land Yacht. Well, I've owned it since the end of Sept but I now have time to work on it this winter! I want to take it out on the road starting in April and have a limited budget right now so I'm stuck between full reno or just making it roadworthy and fixing up what needs fixed to function. It's in pretty good shape for being 40+ years old! Definitely going to be working on rewiring and plumbing no matter what.
I'm excited to start digging through the forums to see whats tips and advice I can find as I start to plan out this reno and my roadtrip! I want to head out for a few months starting in April and make it mostly cross-country; I don't have a set plan yet! Stay tuned.
Welcome. Sometimes it works to do the minimum to make it safe and then go camping a few times. After a couple outings it will become apparent what else needs to be done and what personalization you may want to do. It will be fun and rewarding. Good camping.
