New Airstream Owner in WNC!

Hi everyone,

Last Friday my wife and I picked up our first travel trailer and our first Airstream! We are loving getting it set up and ready to travel. Our first adventure will be this coming Sunday as we leave for the Gulf Coast. We will be traveling to New Orleans and then over toward Destin Fl, for a few nights.

We are so excited to be part of this community and we can't wait to meet some fellow Airstreamers (is that a word?) out on the road.

Attached is a picture of us in front of our new 27fb flying cloud.

P.S. Is there an active Airstream Organization in Western NC?

You have a lot to be happy about in that picture! What a photo - younger couple, new baby and a new Airstream - you are doing well!
You may want to check out the WBCCI in your area. We joined the Kentucky Unit and my wife, daughter (7 yrs old) and myself have had a great time. We have owned an Airstream for the past 8 years.

Congratulations!

and welcome to the forums. Sounds like you have a great first trip planned. We only went 20 miles from home for our first trip. We had a 12-year old trailer and wanted to stay close to home in case anything didn't work. You have a new trailer (and a good looking one, I might add). I liked the front bedroom models, but we couldn't find a used one when we were looking.

There are lots of opportunities for Airstreaming in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia. Check out Virginia Highland Haven, Top of Georgia, and check the rally forum and listing on here. Alumalina and Springstream are great rallies close by.

See you down the road!

Al

Great to see, and welcome to the forums. My 93 year old father and his wife live in Hendersonville in retirement home on Thompson St. In his day he did about 200,000 miles in an Airstream.

Welcome aboard. Lots to read here and lots of knowledge to be shared along with opinions.

Enjoy your first trip. The adventure can have internal adventures as well.

New "streamers"

Welcome to the AS community. Your hopes will be fulfilled and your apprehensions allayed. Remember this forum is a great and quick resource. Any issue you face will be a familiar one to folks here. Post your problem and you will get help usually within an hour. WBCCI caravans are terrific and the camaraderie excellent. The Big Red Numbers you will note on most Airstreams are the travelers' membership numbers. The available directory will give contact info for others in any area you wish to check. Also, many operational questions are well handled on YouTube videos which will walk you through learning various processes. Safe and happy travels. Good touring advice=do not rush. Welcome to the group. I like those smiles. Right color TV. Good trip planned. And you are getting the little one started right with a shiny tent and fun places to see.

Write down the dealer service department phone number and the Jackson Center help number so you can call and get help if something does not work the way you think it should. And the folks here may have experienced a similar issue and sometimes can offer guidance or at least an interesting opinion. We'd also like to hear about your experiences as well. But most important keep sending pictures of those smiles.

Travel safe and enjoy the trip. Pat

I have certainly been blessed with an amazing family!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and for the kind words. I was lucky enough to run across this forum and have to give credit to the members here for making our buying process much easier. We were able to go in knowing what to expect and getting the price we wanted.

Our family looks forward to many miles and trips ahead!

Congratulations on your new Airstream. My wife and I are also from North Carolina. Ironically enough, our first trip was to the gulf coast area as well (actually to buy our Airstream). Check out Santa Rosa RV Resort while in the area. Actually you can go to Google maps and use street view to "drive" through the park. One of the few RV parks the Google car actually drove though. We stayed there when we went down to purchase our Airstream and loved it: http://www.santarosarvresort.com/
