New Airstream Owner

I'm from Montreal, Quebec and have recently purchased a 1974 27' Airstream beauty! My partner and I are planning to "run away" in the spring in it. I'm a web designer, so can basically work from anywhere. I've never owned an Airstream, and obviously have a lot of questions. This forum is great, have already posted and recieved replies on some basic jacking concerns.

As i'm more a visual person, I'd really love to find someone out there who is an expert to either come spend a couple hours with us, showing us the various operating systems. Not sure if there is anyone on the forum close to montreal who would be willing (we'd pay you for your time).

Another scenerio i thought of, was to take the laptop out to the airstream, and get the "expert" on skype or msn, combine it with the camera, and see if we can do it like that..

Any takers?

we started a blog about our intended travels www.airstreamdreaming.com if anyone's interested in reading.

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find someone close by to help out. But if not, I like the skype idea!

Keep anything you take out!

Hi Kim,
welcome aboard and hope to meet you two someday on your travels. If you take anything out of your beauty make sure you store the parts/pieces and don't throw any of it away. Yes, there are some weirdos (I am really talking about me here) LOVE the 1970's models with the original set-up. If you ever decide to sell the new owner/s may really appreciate having them.

Welcome Kim. A lot of the systems in the trailer are pretty easy to use and their operations described verbally. A few digital pictures here and there might even help. If you don't have them yet, I would encourage you to go to the Airstream site and order both an Owners and Service Manual for your year. Thes will go a long way in helping you to figure out how things work.

Here is a link to the Owner's Manual:

https://store.airstream.com/product_...products_id=98

Here is a link to the Service Manual:

https://store.airstream.com/product_...products_id=96

Just select your model year and order!

If you have any questions, just ask. You'll get lots of answers and even a few opinions!
