New Airstream Owner
Hi - My name is Delmer and I have been a member for a while but have not introduced myself because I had not yet purchased an Airstream, but I now am a proud owner of a 2003 Safari 28' w/SO. My wife, Georgia, and I live in Oklahoma and we drove to NY State to make the purchase. After driving it home, we found that we love the Airstream, but are having trouble with the slide. It seems to go out about 2" from the bottom and then gets hung up at the top and will not slide our further. Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem? I sure could use some advice. Georgia and I are looking forward to meeting some of you on the road sometime in near future.
Please contact me: remled@netzero.com
Do you know who the manufacturer of the slide mechanism is? It might be in your owners' manual. I am a factory certified HWH service center. They are 100% American made products found in the RV industry....slide room mechanisms, leveling jacks and air suspension components and systems.
I might be able to help if you have one of these systems, but it is really hard to diagnose a problem like this long distance . Let me know what you find out.
