I agree, cheaper components have no place in a unit as nice as an Airstream. I haven't experienced the ceiling fan issue yet, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the great info!

Sunday AM: Fan fixed! The above wiring is the correct solution, I have proven it. The fan is very quiet. Since the stock brackets were fabricated for a much thicker fan, I made my own mounting system. I purchased a stock "L" piece of aluminum from Lowes, and mounted that to the plywood in the airstream. I drilled holes to fasten the fan to that bracket using small bolts and nuts. I also predrilled holes, and allowed room on the mount for another fan, in case I want to add a "dually" set up later. I am happy thinking about not waking up whenever the old fan kicked in.

Maiden Voyage - what to bring?

Nick and I finally took the plunge in August and bought a 2011 International Serenity 28 due for pickup in April. We intend to live in it full-time once we sell our house.

Meantime, does anyone have any suggestions on what to bring with us in the truck before we pick it up in Oregon? For instance, extra hoses, specific tools, etc. that Airstream does not supply?? I have done some reading and know there are a bunch of things we'll need but is there a comprehensive kind of maiden voyage list here on the forums, or that anyone has?

As newbies, all help is gratefully accepted!

Thanks!
