"New" 73 sovereign
Here's my new 73 sovereign, I pulled it back from Albermarle, NC saturday. She pulled great behind the pickup without brakes, but then again we just went a slow and easy 55 the whole way home back to Greenville. We're going to be full-timing in it while we're selling our house and building. There's a little work to do to get it fully functional and safe, but it shouldn't take long at all.
... and yes, the axles are as bad as they can be. Hence 55mph (and up the hills, the 4 cylinder cummins in my pickup wouldn't pull it any faster. =)

This one is a rear bedroom model, the PO covered up the vista windows with aluminum because one of them started leaking (he didn't know how to reseal it). He also replaced the kitchen countertops and cabinets, removing the gas stove and furnace, and put an electric hot water heater in the cabinet between the twin beds.

Maybe they're related!
Congratulations on your purchase!
I brought mine home from N. Carolina back in 2005 and have had lots of fun restoring it! (See pics)
I'm sure you'll have many fond memories of your own!
Here's the before/after pic for inspiration...

Yeah, the crew cab has a 4bta cummins under the hood. It's a cousin of the 6bta 12 valve cummins that you find in early 90's dodge diesel trucks. It makes the crew cab affordable to drive, getting 20 around town, and 24 on the road. Now, pulling the airstream, I don't know what my milage was, just that it was 15 or better.

jpeterman,
Because SC either doesn't have any, or their owners think they are made of solid gold. =)
I actually passed a '71 29 footer that was for sale 10 miles down the road from where I purchased the 31 footer. It looked more origional, but worse for the wear in the body and frame area.
I spent the day getting proper power to my unit here at the house, and water on a brass quick connect. The air's working well, along with the fridge. I need to open up the breaker box and see what's going on in there. There seems to only be two breakers in the box. I would have thought there would be three; one to the outlets, one the the AC, and a 'main'. Also the electric hot water heater is attached to the box, but I'm not sure how the PO did it, so i need to look and see what he did in there. The converter has been replaced, and seems to be functioning well.
