NEW 2005 Bunkhouse!!!!

We just left the dealership with a brand new 2005 safari bunkhouse!

We have been on the forum for a few weeks now but have not formally introduced ourselves because we had not purchased our AS yet. As of noon today we have it in tow!

We have already signed up for our first rally and can't wait to meet people.

We will post pictures as soon as we get a chance.

Tavis and Ashley McElheny

Wow! Wish that Jackson Center would get back into these. They wasted their time offering a 34' toy-hauler (attempting to compete at RV shows?) and barely sold a couple of those. There sure seems to be an ongoing interest in the bunkhouse models to accommodate families. The six-sleeper was a family hauler in name only... it would fit six only if no children above age 8 were present .. and they didn't age. Or complain about elbows.

More bunkhouses! More bunkhouses!!

We had to build in a fold out chair for our Vintage Overlander. I sincerely hope our girl doesn't get too tall!! A bunk house model might tempt my husband to go modern...

Airstream has made some really DUMB decisions in its history... one of the biggies was doing away with the bunkhouse. Now, I know some of you "know-it-alls" are going to say they didn't sell... like the one that TavnAsh just bought, however, the price point they were asking was ridiculous and the quality wasn't up to snuff.

Here are a few photos from picking up our bunkhouse yesterday.

The picture with the two AS is our 30' Bunk and FLMarine's 27fb.

We will post some from Ft. Wilderness on friday.

What a beautiful trailer, and you are a lovely couple, too.

When your feet are back on the ground, I would love to see more shots of the interior. I saw one advertised yesterday, but am still unclear on how the "two bedroom" thing happens. I know it's hard to show interior details if you don't have a good wide-angle function on your camera, but any more shots will be appreciated.

And I agree, it's strange that AS doesn't make units with more sleep area. They seem to want to focus on more living-room space, even in units like the 34-footers. We like to have our family visit, but it's a real pain having more than just us two sleep over in the TT.

See you "down the road"!

That is a VERY NICE looking trailer! Use it in good health and fun times for the whole family!

Make sure to post LOTS of pictures so Airstream can see a family using it and maybe they'll be motivated to produce them again......

Nice photos. I'm not familiar with the bunkhouse layout. Can you post some photos of the sleeping areas?

That trailer behind yours it looks really nice, then again that's mine. TavnAsh is my brother and sister-and-law and are at my house right now helping pack up my house in preparation to sell it and move full time into my 2009 27FB Ocean Breeze I got a couple of days ago.

The interior lay out of their bunkhouse is great and it's going to be a wonderful trailer for a family. The bunks are perfect for kids/early teens and really allows a family of 4-5 a great trailer to travel with.

You'll be seeing TavnAsh and myself at a lot of upcoming Florida Airstream rallies. I'll post pictures of my 27FB Ocean Breeze very soon.
