Need some advice from experience

Hello Airstream folks, I am a new member. My friend posted a question and thanks to the quick work of some folks on this site you answered the mystery of the age of my potential trailor.

I am looking at a 28 foot 1960 Ambassador Airstream that has been sitting at a junk delaer/collector for the past couple years. I finally stopped and looked inside. To my amazement it has NO musty odor and no sign of rodents anywhere. It is pretty much an unmolested virgin...that's both good and bad. It does have a brand new stove and has an older electric built in refrigerator that I am not sure is origional or not. It is a twin bed model. There are few if any dents, it has all the origional upholstry which is good for a pattern but it has crumbly foam on the beds but the rest of it looks like it could just use a good cleaning. I do not know about the condition of plumbing or anything else. It would need new flooring as it is just bare plywood now. The floor has no soft spots and only a minimal looking water damage in one are at the head of one of the twin beds by a window that must have leaked at one time.

I know this is a stab in the dark for you all BUT what should I offer the old guy for it?? If I fixed it up, what could I get for it in good, not perfect, condition? I have just finished doing a partial restoration of a 1969 Mallard Flight Leader, a rare model that has nearly the same floor plan, but is a 23 foot model. This Airstream would need a polish, and new bed foam and redecorating, not sure about any of the major stuff. Nobody ever wants to brave a price but I have no clue, and remember I don't have to listen to you !! Hopefully I can soon join you all as an OWNER and not just a DREAMER

What a great model! I might be a little biased.

I paid $3k for mine and it was 2500 miles away. It sounds like it was in about the same condition.
