Joe, pricing varies between dealerships and the only way to know if the offered price is fair, is to shop the market. I bought my trailer locally from a dealer even though I found it for a few hundred dollars less at another dealership 450 miles from home. I decided to go local since I knew that the local folks were going to service the trailer (no matter where I bought it from), and that local dealer would be the one to give me service on short notice or back me up if something wasn't quite right.
I think it is good to shop around to make sure you have got a competitive offer. That's the name of the game. But also give consideration to the local dealer when the dollars between local and out of town are competitive, even if the local price is a little higher.
