My new '76 Argosy

Hello everyone.
This is my first try on the forums.
I am lucky enough to be the proud new owner of a 22 foot 1976 Argosy. My grandparents used to take my brother, sisters, and I (not all at the same time) on trips in the Argosy up and down California, Oregon, and Washington. I have many fond memories of the days when the Argosy was new and CB and 8-tracks were our main entertainment.
My grandfather just turned 94 and isn't planning any more trips, so he gave me the trailer. I managed to get it home (600 miles) in one piece. Exactly one week later, my sons and I took our first weekend trip. We got back today. Other than making sure that I had the hitch and lights properly set up and the brakes and wheel bearings were in good shape, we are learning by experimenting and reading the forums. We had a great first trip to Redding, and the boys are really excited about fixing the Argosy up. It is completely original, which means I need to get new gas tanks, but is in very good shape. My teenagers want to keep it "retro." They like the orange carpet and cushions and insist that I find the bedding in the original '76 sales brochure that we found in the cupboard. Anyone know where to get those cool green sheets and pillow covers with the big circles on them? The water system works, the lights all work, the old inverter is still humming along, and the holding tanks and plumbing seem to be leak free. I don't know about the propane system, fridge, air conditioner, heater, and hot water heater. One project at a time.

Hi and welcome. Target has a particulalry retro looking bunch of linens this season and you should be able to find period looking sheets there.

Thanks Janet. I'll take the boys to Target and see what we can find.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this weekend. It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure I'd learn a lot from all you fellow airstreamers.

Pictures of my Argosy

Okay. I hope I did this right.
Here are a couple pictures of my Argosy taken last weekend along Highway 299. I don't have the propane system working yet, but that didn't stop us from taking our first trip! My friend, his son, and my 2 sons had a great time, even though it poured down rain. We had a great poker game playing for kitchen matches in the nice dry Argosy while the storm blew over.
