Miles as an Airstreamer, but new to this site

After owning an Airstream for over 12 years, I finally stumbled onto this site. Looks like I will be monitoring it a lot, as you have a tremendous amount of info here.

After destroying an SOB in a year on the back roads of Colorado, my wife and I (on the advice of some friends) bought our first Airstream in 1998. Unfortunately, that unit lost a bumper-car competition with an 18 wheeler on the Interstate in 2002 and we subsequently purchased our present unit. My wife and I are both retired; she from a career as a therapist and hospital administrator, I initially from the Air Force and subsequently from the aerospace industry. We and our Scottish Terrier Hamish try to travel a few months each year, alternating between swings to the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver Island is our favorite location there) and the East Coast, from Florida to Prince Edward Island. As far as we can tell from our diesel bills, we have somewhere between 125,00 and 150,00 miles on our present Airstream. Over the miles, I have modified it a bit......put a solar panel on the roof, added drawers and shelves and bookcases in lots of places, changed most of the lights to LED, and replaced the carpeting with walnut flooring. This last Fall I had panoramic windows installed in the front, so that it looks more like a newer model now.

I do have a question to pose on this, my first post. Many miles ago the radio antenna mast rattled loose and fell off the top of our trailer. This mast was about 12 inches long and screwed on to an approximately 3/8" male fitting that extends above the roof in the middle front of the trailer. I stopped by the Airstream Factory this week to see if I could replace it. Unfortunately, sometime between 2003 and now, their source for the rooftop antenna has changed. The new mast will not mate with the old mounting and their only suggestion was to replace the whole thing, including the coax cable back to the Sony sound system. I am reluctant to do that, all for the lack of a replaceable mast. Does anyone out there know the manufacturer of that 2003 mast and/or a source for it??
