Maiden Voyage in our New Airstream

My husband and I purchased a 1997 25' Airstream Safari for our 25th wedding anniversary and loved it until we regrettably decided we needed more room. We sold the Safari and bought a used 38' 5th wheel which we grew to loathe! Here we are 20 years later in our 2nd Airstream, a 2018 30' Flying Cloud. WE LOVE IT and it truly feels as if we're back home again. There have been so many improvements over the past 2 decades although we still HATE those manual awnings and would have gladly paid for mechanized ones. We always knew our 5th wheel was destined for the landfill so it's satisfying to know our Flying Cloud will no doubt outlive us.

It seems that most people with the mechanized awnings would gladly switch with you. I understand they have a lot of issues and are a fortune to repair. Enjoy the simplicity of the manual ones!

Welcome Home! I am sure you are going to love the new Airstream just as much as you did your last one. Some things have changed, some for the better and some...well, not so much from what I hear from those who have had Airstream for decades. Technology may be better but craftsmanship may not be what it used to be but they are still way cooler than any other TT on the road. Safe and happy travels.
