I've been lurking here for years, a member for 1.5 years, and have never posted. I had some personal misfortune after buying "Rosie" in 5/05, but am hoping to get back to work on refurbishing her in the spring. You can see pictures and read about her at my blog.

I just ordered my "Air" numbers which made me feel brave enough to post

I'm currently reading through the floor section since I got an offer for help to repair the rot due to water damage. I think its 3/4inch plywood that I need, but I keep reading 5/8th. If anyone knows what came standard with 1973 Safari, let me know, but since this was supposed to be my intro, I'll go post my floor question in the floor section.

Welcome to the active Forums SilverSky! Nothing wrong with being a casual reader but we're glad to have you aboard.

Just went down to the basement to check -- I used some solid veneer 19/32" underlayment on my '74 and that was just a bit thicker than the existing floor. So I would say the 1/2" is closer to the fact. Solid veneer (like marine ply) is best, even if we'd like to renew the external shell so it doesn't leak again.

looked over the website and it looks great....
also looks like you are getting into the cleaning and fixing thing....

i was just wondering ....did you end up taking the furnace and water heater out from under the sink or leave it in place....

and are you planning on carpet or wood perma floor over the pumpkin color...
and why the floor wax on the walls ...are you worried about them sweating or "off breathing" a stick residue....

anyway it looks nice....

The furnace is out, I'm pretty sure I'm not putting one back in. Am looking at a catalytic gas heater(s). The water heater is staying, but may end being replaced.

My preference is to install "pergo", maybe vinyl, but NOT carpet. I won't miss the pumpkin, although it was fun for Halloween.

The walls were really dirty and sticky and I read where if you put acrylic floor wax (Future) on them, they would regain some luster and not get sticky after cleaning. It worked great!
