Looking for any advise!

Hi, my name is Melissa and live in the Chicago area. My father-in-law recently passed away and left my husband a 1966 Streamline Duchess 22'. Unfortunaltely it is New Mexico. We really have no idea what to do with it. Most of it is original (I have pictures) with aluminum interior and exterior.
We have no idea what it is worth and even where to advertise it. Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome.

You came to the right place for advice.
Many people on this forum will be willing to give you all sorts of advice.
My advice to you would be to locate a professional inspector via this forum and pay them to go take a look. They should be able to help you with the general condition of the trailer. As that is happening, scour the web for asking prices or completed auctions. Search all Craigslist for comparisons, eBay for auctions, any fb group dedicated to this particular brand etc...

Then list it here on the classifieds.

Best of luck,
Ian

Hello and welcome. Sorry for your family's loss.

Ian gave you some great tips already to address the method for establishing value for sale.

I'd offer another view to consider. You say you don't know what to do with it. Have you considered camping with it? Touring the country? Visiting some state parks and national monuments?

There may be reasons why this is impractical - but a gift like that may just be an invitation to a world you'll be thankful to have experienced.

Either way - beat of luck to you both!

After it is inspected, if it is serviceable, I second hitting the road to see our country.

My wife and I started a few years back after never having owned a travel trailer, and we were quickly HOOKED! There is so much to see in our great country that you will never see from a typical fly and hotel vacation. If you have kids all the better - you will be giving them memories for the rest of your life.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the information! We actually already have a 32' travel trailer in our driveway. It's a little bigger since we have 2 kids also.
We love going on the road, seeing the country, and making memories!
Nothing like a road trip!
