Longtime lurker finally joining in the fun

After soaking up all the fantastic info on this forum like a sponge and scouring the sales I've finally begun the adoption process for my first trailer, a 1972 28' Silver Streak Continental. Having perused every available trailer around (I even made plans to travel down to OR, CA, NV, and TX for these babes!) I was absolutely smitten with the Silver Streak design. I could hardly believe my luck when I found my current carriage not four hours from my (rapidly-growing-less) cozy apartment!
There seems to be quite a pocket of Streaks and Streams in my neck of the woods, I even passed 2 on the drive up to see this beaut in person. I nearly got whiplash whirling to stare as they passed and scared the absolute poop out of my driving buddy.

He needs some TLC, but having come from the hands of a capable electrician and restorer, a lot of the heavy labor has already been done. This forum has been an incredible resource for the work I intend to do, and I look forward to sharing my progress and learning even more from the lovely folks here!

Thanks for being such a great resource, everyone, and a constant source of inspiration!

I like those as well. Share the inside too so we can see what you got there, and best of luck with it.

I'm afraid I only have the photos from the original ad, since my storage was spent on photos of the flaws/tires/title copy. Rest assured when I have him home you'll know him almost as well as I will.
Original owner installed all new PEX plumbing, new subfloors and bamboo flooring, new hot water heater and gas lines, and a new fridge and toilet.
It definitely has a few quirks. The second owners did a number on this thing (I bought it from the third,) namely a gaping water tank and some frankly baffling sealant on the exterior.
I'm sure I'm in for quite a few surprises as I work on the paneling and cabinetry, too, but there wasn't a trace of any invaders aside from some old wasp nests. Luckily the PO had restored Airstreams before, and I'm confident in/thankful for the work he has already put in.

The streak is home!

John, as far as I have seen (pre-tow) all the original appliances still work. I will likely be replacing the stove, but so long as the removal doesn't affect the oven it is staying.

I managed to get my big guy home just in time for Western Washington's very soggy spring stormfest!

No sign of leaks, but we tarped him just to be safe. I start work in earnest this weekend and so far it's just been a matter of cleaning.
Please note, the CR-V is my town car, not my tow car. I took this photo as a scale representative for the folks at home. This photo was also taken mid-tarping. He is now fully covered in a much more weather-resistant raincoat.
