Let the games begin!!!

This weekend, the wife and I decided to stop by the local Airstream dealer to take a look at a 27FB International…yes this is the same unit we’ve been looking at for about three months! Well…this trip I did a little more then look, we put a deposit down and committed to buying it! So…my status has changed from looking, to towing. All I wanted to do was to find out the number of awnings on the unit!!! Now, I will tow it off the lot next week. I guess I’ll have much to ask the forum members as the newbie questions begin. So thanks in advance.

Smile Congratulations!

What an exciting time for you!! Those fb trailers have the nicest layouts--your dinette's view at many campgrounds will be lovely! Enjoy!

Congratulations - what a momentous day! Member cosmotini was my personal hit of our midwest forums rally in June with his new 27' FB CCD. There's a lot to like about that Airstream! There's one curbside awning standard. He custom ordered his with a rear awning and a roadside awning too -- looked sharp! When deployed the roadside awning did cover the vista views and the rear awning covered a bit more than the middle window. You could readily choose to not put the roadside down if the sun angle didn't demand it. Steph is absolutely right about how great the views are from the rear living space -- so light and airy!

I don't use my A/C much in the northwoods but I'm anticipating more travels to the southwest after Susie retires in half a year -- so will strongly consider picking up the awnings. I don't really think they'd cost much more aftermarket than installed at the factory. But watch out -- there's a 10% Zip Dee price increase coming September 1st! I asked for some additional options after placing the order for our '06 25' FB with our dealer -- asked the dealer for the same discount they'd given me on the Safari order and they went for that.

Did you order or did you buy off the lot? If you ordered how many awnings did you order if you bought off the lot how many did they install.
My classic 31 has four. A large one curb side. A small in the back and the side of the bedroom and the medium size one covering the refer and the dinette windows.

Michelle…I bought it off the lot it’s an 07 model 27FB CCD with Ocean Breeze interior. In addition to the curbside awning, it has a full length roadside awning and a small awing in the rear. Front and rear fans, two skylights, and AV upgrade with satellite radio. The last few days have been mucho hot so I’m having the A/C replaced…13500btu to 15000btu.

Sounds really nice. Good call, I think, on the A/C.
