Just saying Hi

I have been looking at this forum for a couple days now and I think it is great. I became a member because I will be picking up my first camper in a couple of days. It is a 1971 Avion Voyager, I know it is not an airstream but much of the information here has been relevant and I think this site has more support than any of the Avion sites I found. I attached a pic of the Avion, enjoy!

Nice Avion! I don't have an Airstream either, I have a 1963 Avalair (which has a lot of similarities with an Avion) however the wealth of knowledge on this forum has been wonderful and very useful to us "Vintage Kin" owners. Welcome!

This is the 1st time I've heard of Avalair trailers- can anyone supply more info on their history?

Welcome!

Howdy Hoppershot!

You will find lots of information on here will definitely translate to an Avion. We "silver kin" are much loved cousins and anything you need, you should be able to find right here. And, don't be afraid to ask, the knowledge basis is amazing as are all the opinions .

We love photos, so post more when you get a chance.

Welcome!

Tina

I am planning on picking up the camper tomorrow and will get some more pics once I get it home. I would just like to say how helpful this forum has been so far for me. Initially I was just going to buy a bigger ball for my hitch and go get it but after some research here I reconsidered.

My TV is a 2006 Dodge 1500 quad cab. I installed a break controller and bought a reese WD hitch with a friction anti-sway. I'm planning on taking some tools and an air compressor with me tomorrow. Heck I even bought a fire extinguisher.

I think I'm ready, the camper is about 50 miles away from my house. The fun should start once I get it home

Welcome, just get it titled and registered right away, before sinking any more money into it.

Here it is a little bigger and in a format that works easier here.

Nice-looking trailer, look forward to hearing and seeing more of it!

I picked up my camper this weekend. Everything went pretty well except when I got about a mile from home one of the panels under the camper came partially loose and dragged the rest of the way home. The panel is not damaged too much but there is some rust on the structure that it was screwed to that will have to be addressed. Here are some pics of the interior and a few more of the exterior.

There is some damage to the floor inside the door probably because someone tried to break in and the door is damaged and leaks. I plan to fix the door soon and start addressing the other issues as time permits.
