I'm an architect in the Venice Cal. area, a recent purchaser of a 1955 Flying Cloud. Its going to need some work, so any help any of you would like to pass along would be greatly appreciated-PS I think I'll call her Priscilla, after famed movie.
Great name - you found the right place for any restoration help. I have only been here for 7 months and have learned so much and saved alot of time with my project.
Hello 55 cloud -- Very nice vintage period and name too! At this age you might want to be asking how to recondition keep as much of the original cabinetry/fixtures as possible. There isn't a bigger group of Airstream owners sharing information than these Forums. You've got to hang out and jump in to ask questions. Don't overlook the 'Search' function. The research will mostly be on your shoulders but you'll find plenty of other busy folks willing to share the 'dime' of experience.
We have a 55 Flying Cloud that is waiting for total restoration... hubby's next project. I will be sure and tell him you are now on the forum! I am sure you both will have a good time sharing information.
Post pictures ~ inside & out. No matter the condition! We love pictures.
Welcome to the forums from another Architect! There are a few of us on here. Be sure to post pictures of Priscilla (great movie) in her present condition and as you progress. We love pictures! Will you be fixing an enormous high-heeled shoe on top?
