Just got a Safari and am I happy!
 Hi, I have just driven home a 2007 Safari SE 25!
I saw it in Spokane driving home from a three week trek to the Oregon coast. The box I have just didn't make it after that, even though it has more usable room.
When I hooked up and left the dealer I couldn't believe how much easier the tow was. I got exactly the same mileage (I tow with a 4runner V8), even though this trailer is 2000 lb heavier....
The dealer was going to put on solar, but the parts did not arrive on time. I will be doing that, and hope someone has done it before me.
Anyone want to buy a white travel trailer?

Welcome to the forums. There have been several people that have installed solar equipment on their coaches, all you have to do is type "solar" in the search area above, between "new posts" and "quick links".

Is yours a front bedroom? The longer you have it the more you'll love it.
Now that you have that new wonderfull Airstream. Use it often.

congratulations and welcome to the forums.
i'd recommend spending some time here and searching for info about tow vehicles and tow combinations. your 4runner is questionable towing a new 25' airstream. there's many things to consider and i think if you ran the numbers, you may be over towing capacity of the 4runner, not to mention the shorter wheelbase. it's not to say you can't tow with the combination you have, but you should be aware of the limitations and andjust your towing practices accordingly.

Hi David. I am strongly considering an upgrade. I would like to try the tundra with the 5.7 l engine. Looks like it hauls 10,300 lbs. Or a Chevy Silverado 2500 which can tow 13,000. Do either of these seem to work? They have much longer WB but take up a lot of the garage.

both of those would be more than enough. the new tundra is a beautiful truck. i had a chance to see one at the last rally. it was pulling a 25' and the owners loved it.

Hi David,
After looking at all the specs, and the towing spreadsheets I found I needed a 3/4 ton. So I got a 2007 silverado 2500 with heavy duty hitch (2.5").
The wife said I could only get one more truck.
That should do it....

Welcome, I am also new with a 2006 25' Safari SS. Thyese are really cool! I am towing with a used 2002 Suburban HD/LT/Autoride, with the 8.1, 4x4, 2500. What I saved in used new truck, I am paying for in gas, but it cruises like a dream. Tested to 70mph, but 65 is plentyy reasonable as I now have no schedule.

Now that the white box is gone, you are full fledged Airstreamers. Yea!!!Congratulations!! If you don't already, you soon will feel right at home here with the rest of us suffering from aluminitus and rivitosus. There is no known cure but hitting the open road at least slows down the symptoms.

Just wait until next June, about 1000 Airstreams will be desending on your fair city. We will be there in the Vintage Airstream Club parking, come on by and say hi, just look for the only Lincoln Continental tow vehicle.

Congrats, we were in the same boat, bought an '07 27FB and towed with our Landcruiser, ended up with a 3/4 GMC D/A. What a difference in towing. Still can't get it in the garage though...hehe
