Just Getting Started
My wife and I are picking up a new Airstream at the end of April precedent to what we are calling our "pre-retirement practice trip" to begin in earnest at the end of this year.
Over the years we have made the typical transition from light weight back packers to car campers and after off & on dreaming/planning over a couple of decades now on to an Airstream. To say we know nothing about RV'ing would massively understate our circumstances -- we are not even close to being qualified for newby status. But we have been planing and pouring over the forums for quite some time and have particularly appreciated all of the shared wisdom.
But the forums and advice from other sources have absolutely made our hair hurt with the extreme opinions and dire warnings in regard to the various hitch choices. In a state of total confusion our inclination is to just bite the bullet and go with an EQ1000 -- there seems to be enough evidence on the forums and elsewhere to conclude that to do so does not necessarily lead to certain death or complete destruction of your TT. BTW - we are picking up a '12 27' Classic and will tow with a '11 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax Diesel).
Any cautions or second thoughts about the EQ before we pull the trigger?
